Established in 2005 by Prof. Kuan-Pin Su, the MBI-Lab has been vigorously promoting a global agenda of translational medicine by promoting interdisciplinary research, and integrating work from the bench and bedside, which aim to provide better care and service in the field of mental health. Our goal is to promote research and teaching that leads to a better understanding of mental illnesses. We aim to create a stimulating environment for graduate students, clinicians and researchers, by understanding the molecular mechanisms that underlie basic biological processes and how psychiatric diseases develop. The research centre focuses a wide range of medical and basic research topics by using the analytical tools of biochemistry, molecular biology, functional neuroimaging, and genetics techniques. Furthermore, academic cooperation is engaged and supported domestically and internationally with the research interest and specialty of our faculty.

2005年，由蘇冠賓教授創立的身心介面研究中心 (MBI-Lab) 致力於尋找憂鬱症的致病機轉及創新治療，是首創使用Omega-3 多元不飽和脂肪酸做為憂鬱症創新新療的先驅，也是相關療法用於孕婦憂鬱症、合併心血管疾病、肝病、神經疾病之憂鬱症治療上的領航者。在此領域的研究引用次數排名世界第一。身心介面研究中心領先於台灣醫學中心，運用重覆性跨顱磁刺激術和針灸，治療抗藥性患者，結合臨床試驗、功能性磁振造影、認知測驗分析、分子生物學、動物實驗及細胞模型的憂鬱症研究及臨床團隊，與國際研究團隊 (英、美、加、日、波蘭、澳門、德國等) 密切合作。
